depending on where you live in fl you don't need a license, (public piers), on both the atlantic and gulf, as well as the intercoastal. plus purchasing a license increases the amount of funding for the department enviromental conservation. it is one way to direct where your tax dollars go.
if you live around daytona, check out guide mike mann, fat fish charters. my friend in the first pic went out and they bowed up an 18 pd red fish, took 30 min to get in. mike is a great guide and full of info.

I live in Lakeland, FL. It's about 40 minutes east of Tampa Bay. As the name of our town suggests, we have a lot of lakes and creeks and what not, there are quite a few spots for simple recreational fishing, but if you want to catch real stuff my Dad and I usually go out into the Gulf.

There's a large lake behind the local YMCA, it's one of the least "developed" lakes in town, by that I mean...the surrounding area is still pretty nature-y..most of the other lakes have houses or businesses and what not surrounding them. We used to fish there a lot when I was a kid, before my dad had a boat. I'm not sure if I need a license to fish there or not.

I do want to get a license...I just keep forgetting. My dad told me you can get one at Wal-Mart, but I tend to go to Wal-Mart at like midnight...so nobody's at the fishing/hunting section by then.

I go up to Nungusser Lake in the Red Lake, ON Canada area every year walleye fishing. Here's 2 pics from last year, couple of 28" walleye. If I could go fishing for a week or go on a beach vacation, I would pick fishing. Love it!

awesome looking walleyes. there are only but a few lakes around me that hold walleye. so i don't get the chance to target them. i would love the chance to spend a few days targeting them. i've always heard their a great tasting fish.

and yes i agree, the only way you can get me to the beach is if i have a pole to due some surf fishing.

fish on!
