That's what I do. I've got the CP page with my subscribed threads bookmarked, so it's my KATG "home" page, the first page that pops up when I go to the site. When I've read through all my subscribed threads, I browse the other sections (mostly Talk Shite) and find other threads to subscribe to.

Keep the view option in "Linear Mode".
Then the "New Posts" button will be your best friend.
