iTunes substitute?
My work banned iTunes. Does anyone have suggestions of replacements for automatically downloading/playing podcasts? Hopefully with the ability to pause/resume at where you left off? That also can automatically grab the next episode, etc? I don't need the iPod/iPhone syncing capability.

I'll second the Zune software.
I love it. Plus the ZunePass is the shit. 14 bucks a month but then you also get 10 free song credits. So if you would buy 10 songs a month anyway...you are really only paying 5 bucks for the unlimited access. Even though you said you don't need the syncing, one of the things I love about Zune's podcast setup is that it not only syncs the episodes, but also where you are at in the episode. So I listen to half a KATG episode on my way into work on my Zune, then I sync it up to my Zune software I installed on my work laptop, and it knows where I left off. Then when I leave, a quick sync again and I can pick right up on the portable for the ride home. I can't wait for the new Windows phones to come out so I can dump my iPhone and be Apple free again. The Zune is a much better music player all it needs now is a phone. But I never really found a podcast aggrigator that really did it for me. Granted that was about 5 years ago and they may have gotten better. I just used iTunes and now Zune to do it once that option was there.

I'll second Ziepod. It is great! I was having issues with iTunes and not only is Ziepod easier to manage it's way faster than iTunes.

. I think the IT supervisor is an otaku though she has not banned the site I use to read mangas at the workplace. I'm trying to get her into the podcast and see if she would unblock

Songbird - *Shutters*
I've been trying to repress my memory of my horrible experiences with it. Why use it? We were tampering with the notion of taking songbird being used as the basis for something called Bluebird (yes, it's blue for the obvious reasons). Fun fact kids, if you are using the XUL platform to design your application, understand, Mozilla will deprioritize any issues with xulrunner unless it is an issue affecting Firefox. It does do podcasts/rss feeds though. However, I don't know if it will sync with an ipod or if you even need that. I've heard good things about mediamonkey.
