That usually only happens if you switch from wifi to 3G and your cell radio turns off. I'm muddling through a fix right now.

What do you guys like for books or sites for beefing up my C skills? I got the cocoa/uikit obj-c thing pretty well tackled, but the C apis in foundation and audioqueue etc make me go a little cross eyed so I need to improve my fundamentals. What you got people?

I'll backpack on your question and ask what you guys would recommend for a book on beginner programming. I know the super basics, nothing special or big at all. I'm a good book learner though. What specific books would you recommend me to get to start?

O'Reilly Learning Python, it is the best of all programming languages when you are learning and then very useful to day to day stuff once you've got it down. It's like 30 bucks and available anywhere.

Alternatively you could jump on Byte of Python because it is free and it's already updated for Python3.0 so that's cool to.

Really just install python and fiddle with it because it rules and if you got questions hit me up, I evangelize for python any chance I get.

Thanks for the information. I looked up that free one now and I'm reading through it. Haven't gotten to anything reay yet but it seems like a solid read. I'll definitely pick up that other one later. Right now I'm having a good time reading this 120 page book straight on my iPhone.

Thanks for the offer on help too. Could you PM me any kind of IM info of yours? I use pretty much anything and I would just like to keep you as a contact.

Edit: or should I just save the AIM account in your profile?

you can IM me (so can anyone else if it's helpful) at dougmo72 on aim or hayroob at gmail dot com on gtalk.

If you're plodding through the book do it in front of a computer. The python interpreter is a god send when you are trying to figure stuff out.

Good idea. I just went through the first 20 pages but i'll save the actual programming for when I'm home. This was all just intro.
