Twilight fans are virgin teen girls and mothers wanting to look at an 18 year old's chest without going to jail. harry potter fans are genuinely interested in literature, and want to escape to a world imagination, much like people have done in the past with alice in wonderland, lord of the rings, or the chronicles of narnia.

See...while I agree, I didn't want to defend Harry Potter against Twilight because that would be pretty gay and just make Gold's point.

Edit: Harry Potter is good literature, the books are good reads and very creative...however, the first two are rather juvenile and the final book is kind of a let down compared to some of the ones preceding it. I think the comparison to Narnia is fair and appropriate. But Alice in Wonderland and Lord of the Rings are both far superior, definitely the latter.
