I'm pretty sure i'll be getting it, could do with a fight stick too but that'll have to wait.

As far I know it needs to be online and going through Steam's connection. However, you can setup private games and have only friends invited. Hell I wasn't able to open the single player when Steam shat the bed one night. Worth a shot though.

No problem man. Apparently the usual suspects over there are being somewhat of a pain about it. He's gonna work on some higher ups. I'm guessing he pissed somebody off. He's the reason I got to play Diablo 3 and SC 2 after hours during BlizzCon last year.

It isn't acceptable in any modern online game that is being pushed as the premiere online experience. What's worse is if someone knows they're the host of the game, and change their Steam nickname it will essentially pause the game and all that crap. In my experience, leading to a disconnect.

Their whole reasoning for no dedicated servers was because they didn't want people modding. Sadly, they'd rather release another game in a year or two and make a babillion dollars off of a short campaign and a pretty lame multiplayer setup. I would wager that a large portion of MW2 players wouldn't get a third unless the multiplayer supported dedicated servers. I know I won't be investing in that franchise anymore.

In DoW2, other than the campaign (which you can also do co-op) Last Stand is probly the most fun. Take into account that as far as rts games go, I'm behind the curve. I just take too long with them. Single player campaigns take me sooo long and I end up getting stomped in regular vs. modes. I really dig Last Stand.

Kyle, this is the true gamers thread! Standardman keeps us up to date on sexy Steam deals and other shenanigans. His recent videos about TF2 and Just Cause 2 have me itching to go get them except I'm sorta strapped at the moment to go to NYC next week. No more blasphemy from you, sir!

And yes, you read that right, I haven't gotten TF2. It came out when I was stuck on WoW and booze. Sad times. But when I get it I'll be down for some pewpewing.

have you ever had one of those fight sticks?

I've always wondered whether a fight stick was actually worth it cause I used one once and it did feel uncomfortable but Im sure thats just beacause I wasnt used to it

I had one on my sega saturn, the difference is huge, especially for combos and specials.
