Swat 4 was uber cool, but man it symbolized the old school of super unforgiving stealth. Ulcer stuff.

BTW, been replaying Dragon Ages lately. Jesus christ that hgame is serious as a heart attack.

Is there another game wherte you can utter a line like: "Your safety is only a cryel travesty, happiness is only an illusion. We'll have to sacrifice your child"...

Not litweral but that's the jist. The quantity of suffering and turmoil in this game is almost hard to bear at times.

And, fuck, it's hard....

Starcraft with it's happy smelly rednecks inb space is so relaxing (well not really but their drama is kinda silly)

I was just checking if they made the sequel or it was someone else at 2k. I was being lazy.

Perhaps I shall play the first one.

Such a tough game, they were going to use the SWAT 4 engine for a zombie survival game but it was scrapped because it 'wouldn't sell':

I really need to play Dragon Age, especially with the sequel coming.

Multiplayer Co-Op zombie shooters will never catch on.

I get what you mean with Starcraft II, it's silly as all hell and the dialogue is cheesy but, man, I love it for it.

I have it on Steam, it just didn't grab me when last I tried it. Maybe I need to get it on 360.

It's a game that has a gravity to it that's frightening... Everything is so bloody, serious and filled with emotional layers, it's creepy (BTW i would love to read any book that approaches fantasy that way, with guts and depth and less silliness).

Even the silliest moment makes you feel weathered and torn and there's almost no 100 % good or bad character.

If you act heroically, you'll get stuff harder and be scoffed at. If you act as a mean fuck, you'll have your benefits but also a lot of creepy consequences. And sympathizing with a charaacter always brings tons of hard stuff to deal with.

It's almost weird to say this but it's the deepest game i've played.

And yes. I love Starcraft silly goose spirit to pieces. It fills my heart with childlike glee.

BTW what the hell is Burn Zombie Burn? Looks like shit.

As I've mentioned, FPSs have been shit for me since I got this desk. I even got Bad Company 2 on PS3 because of it.

Stop playing it for a while, going to try to beat Half-Life again.

Just when I think I must be at the end of the game, another level unfolds...which is great, for a game....but a bit of a pain when I'm trying to storm through it so I can play Half-Life 2.

I've had the Orange Box for ages, but never wanted to get far in HL2 without having played HL.

Man, Dragon Age was another game that I just can't get into ...it's frustrating because I really want to and while playing I feel the potential there but I just get bored or feel let down when I suddenly get a "Go into the woods and find 5 heal plants and bring them back" quest. Its hard for me to take the story seriously with that kind of uber-obvious videogame-rpg crap.

As for reading non-silly fantasy, the newer books are kinda shitty, bit the beginning of the George RR Martin "Song of Ice and Fire" books are pretty good and "realistic", very emotional and startling at times...

Was that one of the church bulletin board missions, yeah those suck

Trust me though, that game is damn near PERFECT, the story is epic and has so many damn branches for you to go in, give it another shot, focus on the story instead of side quests, for now, you will be glad you did.

(and if you like the idea of that game but dont like the RPG/Fantasy elements of it, MASS EFFECT) The first one is a little shoddy and unpolished game play wise, but the story is amazing and pretty much needed for you to play part 2 (you carry over your character and decisions) and part 2 is one of the best games of this generation, the combat in one is wonky, but 2 turns into straight up Gears of War meets Knights of the Old Republic
