I got to the part where Tom Hardy took the ginger twink and left Leo in some dirt and turned it off. I was so bored to tears that I was honestly falling asleep.

I hope the make up artist for this movie won the emmy because in the past decade this was the first time I found Tom Hardy unattractive.

Phantom Thread, while being batshit crazy, was at least engaging cuz you wanted to know what stupid ass thing would happen next or see if those that brother and sister would fuck or if someone would be murdered. This movie, was chaotic violence followed by silence and dirty grumbling men, then whispering then violence then yelling then violence, then whispering, then I turned it off

Shoplifters - B+

Finally made time to see this. In the end it's a slice of life pic about some sad grifters who are abandoned by others and become a family. The ending was pretty sad and I wish it was more hopeful and hey, we don't get happy endings.




US - C+
I liked it more than I didn't, the score is so low because Jordan pushed this as a horror movie and it certainly is not that, at least not after the first 20 minutes.

The tonal shifts after "They" arrive in the film really suck the seriousness out of the whole thing. The brother and sister kinda joking after they [spoiler] the twins in the neighbor's house, the fight over who gets to drive the new car and the goofy acting of the Other Neighbor were all just too silly.

Lupita herself was pretty much the best thing about this movie, besides Wintson Duke's thighs.

I literally said out loud in the theater "who made those jumpsuits?!" After the reveal.

I like this movie less and less as time passes and I think about how much better it would've been as a comedy
