The most vivid gaming memory I have was being round at my buddy's house for a barbeque one summer's evening and having my mind blown by the genre-defining brilliance of Wolfenstein 3D. |

Altered Beast
My first gaming experience was Altered Beast for the sega genesis, I was about 10 years old and we went to visit my cousin who went to an international school and I was literally hooked, I cried to my mom to let me stay so that we could play it all night. Safe to say that was the begin all end all. I was promised that if I studied hard and maintained top 5 in my class all year the next time my mom come to the US she would pick one up for me.
I was so hooked on the genesis that I refused to play Mario for about 2 years thinking that it was blasphemy in the name of SEGA and anyone who owned a NES was an idiot It was so sad in the following years to see the Sonic brand die out while Mario franchise took off and maintained for decades

Pong, ET, Empire Strikes Back on the ol' Atari 2600.
Then it was a Commodore 64 with the tape player, then an Amiga 500. Dragons Lair! What an awesome game that was. I had it on the Amiga and played it so much that I could play by just listening (and sneaking a peak quickly on some rooms as they were randomly flip horizontally). Also loved Space Ace. Good times. |

My first gaming experiences apart from the odd arcade game were Wolfenstein, Seal Team, Chuck Yeagers Air Combat and the magnificent Xcom: Enemy Unknown all on PC. For my first console games what springs to mind is Driver and later Goldeneye. Ah classics!
