You might be right when it comes to reading a name and then having to figure out how to say it but I'm pretty sure Chemda is talking mainly about the cases where she says 'hi my name is Chemda' and people have heard how it's supposed to sound.

When I got to Alaska I was told "if the bear is brown stay on the ground, if it's black, fight back." Sounds racist. They don't even have a rhyme for if it's white.

But more importantly, I was told be be more scared of moose than bears. But there was a moose in the back yard the other day and two people jogged almost right into it and while they were terrified and mad at me for standing on the deck watching, the moose didn't care at all.

This would probably save her an estimated total of 2-3 years of explaining her name.

On the other hand, we'd all be wearing lame Keith and Hemda shirts tomorrow instead of super kickass Keith and the Girl shirts

Yes. The whole thing.

"The brain hears this and translates the letters based on our pre-programmed..."

Just repeat what the person said! Believe that they said it right!

My point is that people may not pick up on what the person says cause the brain filters out syllables and sounds its not use to hearing as noise. It's literally the reason why people have accents. Or why Americans have trouble understanding Australian, Irish, British, South African, Scottish accents even though they all speak English. That's why people ask for repetition so they can practice and get it right. Or they play the "sound's like" game in their head. They are trying to get it down.

Robots clearly hate advice. Possibly shortcuts as well.
