I’m only about 45 mins in, but already an instant classic. Father Malley emails + Christian exponentially digging himself into a hole and then leaning into the hole and then choke-slamming himself back into the hole.

I was a little worried that I was a little too graphic in describing the end stage of dementia. I should have known better-no one who cares about how someone feels to be describing the deterioration of their mother-his wife. Like what the actual fuck. I doubt any of you wanted those details. He is trying so hard to get a Christmas visit.

Well I got to the spoiler. Damn. I’m glad you have your siblings to commiserate.
And I watched this episode. You can tell how much Christian cares for his friend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also-you are making the right decision. There is no way your Dad wouldn’t go out of his way to go to you and make a huge deal about you being there and trying to do the “my long lost son” crap. And he will find a way to place the blame on you for the funeral not turning out the way your dad envisioned it. As you know there’s no earthly way your dad will try to take advantage of it. Because as hard as it might be for some of your siblings to really understand-your dad never cared about your mom. He wasn’t sad when she died. He might be sad by the loss of income but I doubt he really cared. He would turn it into poor me I’m a recent widow and my own son couldn’t hold it together enough to comfort me-come stranger hear my sad story. I can’t believe the paper even allowed the prince and princess crap in the obituaries at all.

I have too many thoughts and feelings but I think most importantly/simply I wanna say: Keith, keep fuckin doin you. Every decision/action you're taking makes all the sense. Fuck anyone trying to guilt/pressure you into doing things out of some false sense of decorum or respect.
Chemda, as always I trust you most in these moments, and Christian was a delight to have along this journey of an episode. Instant classic indeed. edit: also Chemda: extremely yes to finding a long hair in the butt Last edited by mxmalloryjane; 12-10-2022 at 12:53 AM. Reason: adding important info |
