Yeah, fortunately Diaspora looks like it'll be too nerdy to hit the tipping point of anybody actually using it, so I don't think I'll have to create another one.

And since it's privacy-conscious, it won't get a foot in the door like scumbags of LinkedIn (I don't understand why anybody would use that scumfuck site considering they just fucking scour the web for you and force you to have a profile).

The only reason I have a facebook is because it's the only means of staying in touch with certain people where direct interaction isn't possible (friends from college, mostly). If people were still into writing letters (like, with the postal service), I would do that over facebook in a fucking heartbeat (and do, with one girl). Something that takes a little effort or has a little more feeling to it than "lol" or a "Like" button.

yeah because, you know, it's not already a huge market with billions of dollars for the taking or anything like that. dumbass.
there's hundreds of sites, apps, and add-ons all for the reason of connecting one's social networks for a variety of legitimate reasons.
but, of course it's all ridiculous and unnecessary because you personally don't have a need for it.
