Oh man, I didn't even think of that. Maybe I won't be going to New York after all. I have a tough enough time at the border as it is -- No passport or birth certificate is probably gonna put that plan on the skids.

You can get a passport as quickly as 2 days if you have proof you are traveling (bus ticket). But you'd still need proof of citizenship and some other form of ID. Passport Canada: Canadians - Forms
