Picked up Homefront.

I've beaten the first two chapters and I like it quite a bit. I really don't play first person shooters so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I'm playing it on 360. Would be curious what others think.

I had pre-ordered it on Steam and was downloaded and ready to play when I got home from work.

Blew through single player in 3.9 hours. Story was awesome at first but really fizzled out. I'm pretty disappointed. I doubt multiplayer will make the $50 purchase worth it, but I'm going to try it out more tomorrow.

I don't remember directly comparing the two, although I understand your inference since I mentioned it immediately afterwards. Though, I might have mentioned Diablo because of number of individuals who worked on Torchlight were also part of the Diablo team back in the day. Or, I might have mentioned it because Torchlight reminds me of Diablo. Or, I could have mentioned it to ignite some short-lived debate about Torchlight v. Diablo.

In any case, I find Torchlight a great little game. Very simple, addictive, fun.

I REALLY wish they would have included co-op/multiplay. Even PvM would have been fine with me. Who doesn't remember those Diablo and Mephisto runs, spamming the mouse the instant the boss died? Ahh the good ol days.

Cow run

oh of course diablo is superior, but the sheer addictiver playability of torchlight makes me judge it as a great game on its own terms.

i tried replaying diablo 2 and its still great buit some aspects of it are terribly stiff, dated and frustrating. Torchlight is user friendly and entertaining. i sincerely hope that blizzard whennever it will release diablo 3 has learned a bit from torchlight.

To each their own, but I was disappointed in just about every aspect

It's like going back home after a long time away.

Also pre-ordered Homefront on Steam and got Metro 2033 for free, so I'm playing that a bit too, until Homefront comes out next week.
