Why do they make vegetarian stuff that looks like sausages and burgers? Because it fits in the fuckin' buns!

We aren't out here making our own bun shapes. I'm not about to cut the edges off something to make it fit either. They've been squeezing plants into the same vague shapes as y'all squeeze offal for decades now - when is it going to start to feel normal to you?

It's nice that the fake meat has started to taste better since companies started throwing real money at it. I guess that's down to new generations of folk finding it less weird and not caring that the thing in their hot dog bun contains 0% sphincter instead of 45%.

I didn't go to a dentist for over a decade. You know how we English do things with regards to teeth, though. Pip pip.

Teeth were in great shape, though. Floss is your friend.

There’s a bunch of vegan/vegetarian cultures out there who would disagree. Naan/roti is funny shaped bread that you tear off and use to pick up typically non-hotdog shaped, delicious vegan/veg dishes.

Obviously in a western context there is a want to connect these plant-based products to an existing food idea. I think there is some value in that but also ends up confining the idea to the constraints of meat-based cuisine. Vegan/veg foods can be so much more than a “replacement” of meat.

Oh 100%, I didn't mean they make all vegetarian food that way - I was just responding to the surprise of Keith and the guests that people have the audacity to make meatless food that resembles meat.

I'm a huge fan of naan, chapati, injera and the like, and all of the wonderful amorphous food that you can sandwich inside them
