I had to fly from Indiana to Wyoming and back for my sisters wedding with my young children last week. First part was with Delta which had no problems. Historically I’ve never had issues with Delta. But fucking American Airlines. And I was the lucky one out of my family! They delayed our first flight several times but we luckily had a 5 hour layover in Charlotte so it didn’t stress me out too much and was better for the kids to not have to wait that long. My son, who is special needs, had a very hard time with waiting because at that point he was just over the travel. I also got sick because the kids had started school and they love sharing their germs with me. I got text notifications from American Airlines BUT I had to SPECIFICALLY request it on the website. I would have lost my mind if I showed up and they just changed it to the next day like they did my sisters. That to me shouldn’t be legal. Not everyone can afford to just get a hotel. Plus our kids are young enough to need car seats, which were checked and I’ve heard you don’t get your bags back in that case. I don’t understand why the airline industry wants to fuck their customers so hard without lube. Both my sisters ended up having their flights changed to the next day and there wasn’t anything they could do about it. Luckily the one sister already had the time off for her honeymoon-which who wants to spend it that way and the other was already on medical leave. In the age of technology it shouldn’t be that difficulty to send out alerts to customers without forcing the customer to sign up for them in order to get them.

And by lose my mind I mean burst into tears. Because I know that the people at the counter have no control over the situation. I’d be sending emails though and blasting on social media.

But seriously-the CEOs of these fucking airlines make so much money why can’t they invest in upgrades? I really hope there are changes because this is ridiculous.
