Done! The film wasnt bad, it had a cool concept but i think they could have done a lot more with it. Like sex! how do surrogates have sex? can you fuck your own surrogate? what about surrogate on surrogate gang rape? is it as hilarious as it sounds? all in all the plot was kinda predictable and there were way too many mistakes in the film for me to really focus on it.

im going to say... 6/10

Aw man! I love this idea! How did I miss this thread for the past two days? I guess that's what happens when I forget to check the forums regularly. Hopefully I still have time to watch the movie before we move on to the next one....

Awesome thread Dave, I'll try to watch the movie tonight when I get out of class.

Surrogates was ok, I'm kinda surprised they got Bruce Willis in it. Science wise, the possilbe applications for being able to convert human thoughts into electronic signals is way more expansive then being able to control your own robot. The part that really bothered me was that you can't lay around for years and have ok health, did they address that? And don't most accidents happen in the home anyway? Silly science things always irk me.

Surrogates seemed like such a good idea for a plot starter but once you get to watching the movie it just seems done. They don't expand on what you could do with a surrogate enough and you get the feel that this was pumped out quick enought to try and be a summer action blockbuster and thats it. It needed a more versatile script and director

i know that with people in comas after a while they have specialists who come and exercise peoples limbs so their muscles dont deteriorate because after a while they will break down. the same reason people in space have to work out with special equipment to make sure their bodies dont break down into mush (so to speak)

Yes this is what i mean, there were too many silly science things that got in the way of the story, definitely a project just rushed off as a summer blockbuster. Like the part at the very begining where someone said "98% of humans now use surrogates" i thought no that cant be right, i doubt 98% of humans have toilets let alone surrogate robots.

Isn't it meant to be a "utopian" future? I just assumed poverty had been eradicated. Maybe the stat meant America or something.
