Two classic PC adventure games are now available for free from GOG.com (Good Old Games). GOG is a service run by CDPROJEKT, developers of The Witcher, where older and classic/retro PC games are compiled into neat, XP/Vista compatible installers and are guaranteed to work on your current computer without additional emulation software. All games are also priced at $9.99 or under. All games come complete with game manuals, and many come with extras such as soundtracks, wallpapers, avatars, comics, or concept art packages. All games purchased are DRM free and can be re-downloaded from the GOG website as many times as you want. Beneath a Steel Sky and Lure of The Tempest are the first two games to be offered for free.

My that's strange timing. I came accross GOG recently (jesus, I want to buy almost everything!) and also recently discovered that Beneath a Steel Sky's (which I played as standardkid) is by Dave Gibbons.

OH YAY! Spelunky reached 1.0!

For the unfamiliar, it's a cave divin', animal whippin', rope climbin', damsel savin' good time with procedurally generated levels - so it's different every time you play it. Supports gamepads too.

Spelunky v1.0!

You will die a lot but on different levels every time!

Play it before Xbox Live pretends it's new!

Speaking of randomly generated levels, browser-based Canabalt is an atmospheric yet simple velocity-based parkour game in exactly the way that Mirror's Edge failed to be.

One button: JUMP!
