I don't kick them, I just speak of what I've experienced with my cats. I do think strays should be cooked up and fed to the poor and homeless, but that's not mean, that's just good sense.

My male kitten has just been litter-trained within the last two weeks. He was a stray before that, but picked up really quickly. Most of the time he's REALLY good about going in the box, but a few times he's wet my bed, including last night. It's definitely not a habit, but it happens occasionally, and I'm wondering if there's some sort of trick/spray (anything??) to keep him from doing this. It happens whilst I'm asleep, so it's not really as if I can 'catch him in the act', and I don't want to make him stop sleeping on my bed.
My last cat was a stray of sorts. she was birthed and abandoned on my front porch. I had to make an incubator and bottle feed her.

When it came to box training, I only had to put her in the box after feeding her adn wait til she took a dump. she figured it out and never shit or pissed outside the box.

It should be instinct. Have you taken your cat to a vet and had him checked out? Maybe he has some sort of health problem.

Beyond a health issue:
If he's really little maybe he's afraid to jump off the bed and find the box. maybe his litter doesn't agree with him. You could try different litter, maybe plain non-clumping unscented litter? it's cheap but you must throw it out every week or so. My adopted stray didn't like the scented stuff (but she still used it and just meowed her dislike).

I really would recommend visiting a vet for a simple checkup. I will probably only set you back $100 including shots and routine exam/tests. If he isn't neutered you'll need to take care of that as soon as possible. Males with nuts are basically wild animals and will never act in a civilized manner as a house cat.

Yes I'm crying at home all alone with 27 cats and contemplating throwing myself off a building. I'm the worst.

Well he goes in the box pretty much everytime. When I took him in, I only had to put him in the box once as he was about to poop, and from there he picked it up himself. He does it all in the box, buries it, and moves on. He can just on and off my bed no problem. The more I think about it, maybe it's just because he's so young and it may be a form of wetting the bed for kids. I dunno. I was just more wondering if it was normal. The only health problems he's got is worms (which I'm going to have fixed in a week or so) and an URI, which I'm giving him anti-biotics for (as well as my other cat, who actually gave it to him). It's only happened like 3 times since I've had him. The first two were the first night I had him, and I thought he was done with it until he did it last night.

Guess I'll wait it out and see if it keeps happening.

And j2x, what a disgusting thing to say. Sorry, but that's a very childlike opinion.

Jeff, that's pretty pricey to me. It cost under $500 to spay and declaw my kitty. My cat still has her back claws though, and when she leaps off my leather furniture, she digs hundreds of little holes...Maybe try some of the other strategies before declawing.

Our thug cat has been enjoying our apartment for the last couple years.

We got her from a no kill shelter in Flinn Springs, CA near El Cajon called Friends of Cats. WE LOVE that place.

We were searching for a small, short hair, black cat and this large main coon jumped up in my arms and nestled in my shoulder purring for 10 minutes so we figured she probably liked me or something.

Brought her home and in the two years we've had her, outside of some small ear issue that just required drops, she hasn't had any health issues. She's never pissed or shit anywhere but the litter box and even when we're out on long trips (we have someone sit for us) she doesn't get into shit. She has a scratching post she uses to claw and outside of the top of my computer chair which is littered with puncture marks (I don't give a shit), she hasn't damaged any other furniture.

We call her a thug because she's definitely an alpha female. We brought her to the in-laws during the wildfires a couple years ago and she immediately took dominance over their cats. No fights but then perhaps my mother-in-law's cats are just pansies.

We never let her outside, though she has escaped twice (never for more than a minute). She's not a runner so that helps. We trim her nails as often as we can but I'm with everyone else in saying declawing a cat is inhumane. Would you cut your kid's fingers off? She came to us spayed and it's been a blessing. I had a female cat once that wasn't spayed and when she went into heat, she was a NIGHTMARE.

So, here's some pics of our thug monster extraordinaire: Cinnamon...

That's a cute story how your cat decided she was going home with you even though you were looking for something different.
