When I was younger I thought for sure I'd be into jazz. I associated jazz with intellectuals. Smart people knew jazz. This was a problem as I didn't listen to jazz; nor knew anyone who did. They played it at a local coffee shop I went to. Someone suggested Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.

To this day, in the literal thousands of albums I own, it remains the only jazz I got. I think of this sometimes when I listen to Korn late at night. Drunk on cans of cheap whatever. Never quite made it to...uh....refinement.

This is a famous Dave Brubeck song. Most drummers/ band geeks know it. They played it on NPR recently when Brubeck passed away. It's good.

It's too bad everyone knows that dumbass "Born in the USA" song. Maybe it's good, but I grew up hating it. Years later I come to find out he's a great song writer and his backing band - one of the best. He was incredible live at that NY/NYC Katrina Hurricane benefit last year or so. I'd see him live.
