the cat thread

I'm selfishly starting this thread because I have a cat question.

Also, post your cat pics and other silly cat stuff.

Douchebags can post and say how much they hate cats. Personally I equate being a dog person with owning a huge pickup truck, most are compensating.

My question: how much did you pay to have your cat declawed? I called my vet and they want over $500. This sounds high to me.

Getting your cat declawed is not necessary. Is Any reason you’re doing it? I'm not a fan of declawing unless you really have to.

This is my cat before he turned into a Asshole

I've tried the caps for the last six months. She chews them off or sheds them very quickly. I spent $3000 on new furniture recently and my $800 leather recliner is getting shredded. She's just too destructive. My apartment manager sent a letter a couple weeks ago complaining about damage to screens too, which is going to cost me. I'm required to have her claws capped or removed in my building. Every time a cap falls off she manages to do damage with the one or two that are exposed.

I'm open to suggestions, but I don't see an alternative. It's either get rid of the claws or get rid of the cat.

you can declaw a cat yourself. all you need is 2 strong rubberbands. first tightly wrap rubberbands just above front paws. second wait about three weeks and the cat will have no front claws. does a SUV count as a pickup truck ya'll. you can also neuter a cat with a cigarette lighter from a pickup truck (truck must have rust).

Somehow, after reading the first post, I knew someone would start the "Declawing cats is cruel/unnecessary" argument. None of the alternatives work, and it isn't cruel.

Here's my little asshole. I WISH she was declawed but I've always been told she was too old. How old is your cat?

Just the front? All 4? Age of cat? That could be high, reasonable or a steal depending on your answers.
