I really liked AC, yes it was repetitive and walking around in the hospital was like walking through a pile of mud, but it was great. I played it once and I'll never play it again though. Sad I didn't get more achievements but eh.

Looking at Left4Dead maybe this holiday, it's getting great reviews but I was a little eh over the demo. Wish you could just do 2 or 3 person and skip the AI, mind - the AI isn't HORRIBLE, I just... eh. We'll see, I'll probably get it.

On the other hand, Little Big Planet? HOLY crap, that's fun. I was up for hours last night, way too many to count, hooked on that. The normal levels were great, but playing OTHER levels and finding cool ones? That was awesome.

I know I'll never be able to create levels, but being able to play others really is awesome.

And Wipeout HD is approximately the same level of kickassness. I missed Wipeout Shame it doesn't have the music as good as Wipeout XL...

Assassin Creed felt like someone made a great engine and forgot to put a game in it.

They'll release one, don't know when.

BUT - they are remaking them, at least the first, to use Wii controls! How awesome??

BTW - why did no one tell me that the PS3 was awesome? I mean, the Xbox has way, way, way better software, but the hardware on the ps3 is teh bombest thing ever.

/was birthday present for ME! ^_^

Then Prince of Persia felt like someone made a great light bloom filter and forgot to do shit else. Like add "fun". What was the appeal? The awful characters? The gimmicky dagger power? The terrible combat? The mind-numbing platforming? The extremely linear level design?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (xbx: 2003): Reviews

Shush you.

Wikipedia:
Quote:
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was received with widespread critical acclaim. IGN gave the game a 9.6/10 rating and voted it as the Game Of The Year 2003 thus praising the game for its "intuitive control, stunning atmosphere and satisfyingly clever environmental puzzles," and stating it was one of "[their] favorite adventure offerings of all time."[35] GameSpot gave The Sands of Time a score of 9.0/10 "recommend[ing it] wholeheartedly."[25]

In general, the game was most often praised for its lush, dreamy environment and graphics, the acrobatic combat and platforming, the forgiving and responsive controls, the excellent animation of the Prince, the story, and the time-manipulation abilities of the Dagger.[41] GameSpot said the "entire game has a beautiful look to it", The Cincinnati Enquirer described the game as "graceful", and said that the graphics "further the cinematic experience", while Nintendo Power called it "gorgeous".[25][53][40] The Sands of Time is also often noted for its flowing gameplay - particularly in relation to puzzle-solving, which has a tendency to hinder the action of other true 3D platform games considerably. Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw stated on his Zero Punctuation review that Sands of Time rates in his top five games of all time.

The game's average score on Metacritic and GameRankings is a 92%, making it one of the best reviewed games for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube.[19][41]

Well i will agree that the game had its weak points.

The difference of opinion that made the game so so so amazing to play was: "The mind BLOWING platforming"

I know it did not appeal to certain gamers since the sales were not that great.

Which lead to the awful demise of its half ass'd gore fest follow ups. LAME!!!!

Reviewers do stupid things on occasion, and overrating Sands of Time was one of them. I really can't fathom how people liked it so much. If it was the light bloom and the fairy tale atmosphere (that was completely shattered by the abysmal characters and story), why didn't Fable get eleventy billion out of ten? If it was the platforming, why does clunky controls and extremely linear level design = awesome, but fantastic controls with freedom = no game?

i think that ur trying to rate prince of persia in todays games standards, but if thats the case even a game like ocarina of time would seem stupid to you
